Dayton Fire Dept: New chief, others sworn-in

Mike Rice is Dayton's new Fire Dept. Director & Chief, following a Feb. 5 swearing-in ceremony. Rice, a 23-year DFD veteran, replaces retiring Director & Chief Jeff Lykins.

 Also at the Feb. 5 ceremony:

  • Capt. Brad French was promoted to Assistant Chief.
  • Capt. Tyler McCoy was promoted to District Chief. 
  • Lt. Allen Dudziak was promoted to the rank of Captain. 
  • Firefighter Andrew Ferguson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
  • Paramedics Nicole Terrell, Andrea Vaughn and Amanda Mitch-Tolle, who were previously promoted, were recognized.

Congratulations to all, who will continue the Dayton Fire Department tradition of serving with distinction.
