City to remove ash trees from right-of-way areas

Ash Borer Tree Damage

In response to the emerald ash borer infestation, the City of Dayton has determined that for public safety reasons all remaining ash trees growing in the public right of way will be systematically removed. All work will be done to ANSI A300 standards for tree care operations at no charge to the property owner. Stumps will be removed and new trees planted when additional resources become available. If the resident has treated any tree for the emerald ash borer, please notify the City of Dayton Division of Street Maintenance at 937-333-6472 to communicate the type of treatments being applied. Treated trees will be removed if the City determines the treatments have failed and the tree becomes a hazard to the right of way.
