Major Jason Hall is commander of the Patrol Operations Division. This Division includes our three Patrol Districts: East District, West District and the Central Business District.
Major Hall has been a Dayton Police officer since 2001. He was initially assigned to Patrol Operations and has since served in several capacities including Crime Scene Investigations, Arson Investigations, Inspections and Audits, Recruiting, Administrative Services, as a Federal Bureau of Investigations Task Force Officer and his most recent assignment as the Violent Crimes Bureau Commander. His work in VCB earned him the Dayton Police Department Supervisor of the Year Award in 2021.
Lieutenant Hall is also the commander of the Dayton Police Department Bomb Squad which provides services for an eight-county region with a population of 1.3 million citizens. Additionally, Lieutenant Hall serves on the National Bomb Squad Commanders Advisory Board, the leadership element for bomb squads in the United States and is responsible for authoring and maintaining national standards for the bomb squad community.
As Commander of the Patrol Operations Division, Major Hall is responsible for overseeing the approximately 200 sworn personnel responsible for patrolling the neighborhoods of Dayton, responding to calls for service, and proactively dealing with quality of life issues.
