The Office of Economic Development offers the following services to Dayton's business community:
- Site selection assistance for new or expanding businesses,
- Assistance with permits and the plan review process,
- Coordination with financial partners for low-interest loans,
- Business development incentives for growing companies,
- Referrals to regional resource partners for free or low-cost services,
- Creation of "shovel ready" sites like Tech Town through brownfield redevelopment,
- Real estate development and site assembly assistance,
- Annexations of commercial property for enhanced City services,
- ....and more!
By developing long-term business relationships, we continually maximize opportunities for economic development and growth. In 2011, our staff met with nearly 300 businesses to assess their growth needs. As a result, the City helped to retain almost 1,300 jobs and create more than 300 new jobs. We also secured $15 million in non-local project funding.
Our staff manages the Dayton Business Resource Connection (DBRC), which provides small business assistance as part of the regional BusinessFirst! program in cooperation with our business resource partners.
